Highlights from some of the projects in our investment programme that is delivering over £3.9 billion of improvements to Scotland’s water and waste water infrastructure.

Scottish Water alongside our alliance partner, Efficient Service Delivery (ESD), are carrying out a programme of works on the water network in Lerwick.

This work will ensure that we continue to provide clear, fresh drinking water to our customers for many years to come.

£900,000 water mains upgrade commences in Stonehaven

The work, which will be carried out by the utility’s alliance partner Caledonia Water Alliance (CWA), will see the rehabilitation of over 16 miles of mains using techniques such as mains lining, flushing of pipes as well as some pipe replacement as required.

Working with its delivery alliance partner, Efficient Service Delivery (ESD), Scottish Water has developed proposals to replace the two existing water treatment works which currently serve the area with a single new works which would be located in forestry south of Invermoriston.

Friday 12th October saw the Fair Isle community celebrate reliable 24 hour power for the first time as their new renewable energy system goes live.

One and a half metres in diameter (5ft) and weighing in at an impressive 23 tonnes, Tunnelling Tanya will tunnel at depths of up to 27 metres and will remove 5,000 tonnes of rock as she makes her way under Saucelhill Park in Paisley.
